Re: [nbos] Astro sector generator feedbackFri Dec 11th, 2009
Hello all,
1) I would like the generator to give more control over what kind of bodies it produces. Maybe there could be a tick-box list of object types, where I can select or deselect. Perhaps a slider by each type to control the proportion of each object type generated in the final sector.
I would also like finer distinctions in star types, with at least three categories: O, B, A; F, G, K; red / brown dwarfs.
The reason is that datasets on known stars inevitably miss more of the dimmer stars the further you get from Sol. So basically I would like to be able to tell AS to generate a bunch of red and brown dwarfs across a 50ly sphere; delete all the ones within 20ly of 0,0,0; and then merge that into a 50ly real-stars dataset.
2) Not really a generator question, but I don't suppose anyone has input all known exoplanet data into a real stars dataset..? A bit like painting the Forth Bridge as new data are always coming through, but it would be quite satisfying to have!
