I agree. Being able to assign a specific "height" of individual layers
would be very beneficial. Also, being able to assign specific height
to a series of objects within the same layer would also be very useful.
For an example of how this would be used, imagine creating a geographic
area on top of a specific map and adding it to a layer named "Swamps".
Then adding a few "dead" trees that are also added to the "Swamps"
layer. It would be very useful to be able to assign the trees to a
higher height than the underlying swamp shape and have them remain on
top so to speak.
