Re: [nbos] Display colours & other quirks

Well, if my map was divided into subsectors, it would answer the
question. However, I don't think there could have been more than 5000
systems. The key thing is to keep this in mind when doing maps in the
future. I suppose, if I discover I have missed something and my map DOES
have more than 5000 systems, I can always introduce subsectors, run the
changes and then delete/hide the subsector grids.

Cheers,

Mike

There maybe a work around. Look at the list from 2-3 weeks ago. Support
provided a little script for me/us to mass edit all the systems in the
sector.

Here is the message we got on 1/18/07

Bob,

I uploaded a plugin that will cycle through all the systems and set the
label distance to 100 ly. Place in the plugins directory and restart
Astro. To change the label distance value to something else, change the
'o.LabelDistance = 100' line as appropriate.

Regarding searching, one way around the 5000 limit is to show/hide
subsectors progressively to reach all the systems.

I wasn't aware that was the case, Bob. I'm not sure how many systems
there are in my map but the method seemed to cover everything I have.
It's certainly worth knowing. I wonder if there's a work-around?

That will work great for the first 5000 systems. That's the limit on how
many systems search will select.
