Thank you for the reply.

Might I suggest the "find a route" feature for a later version.

Alternatively, is there a way to use the proximity route function to create
routes from the target system to all the systems within X distance?

If I can do that then I can go star by star in the general direction I would
like to travel.

Use 'actions -> mass edit -> label display distance' from the menu. To
select all the systems in your map use the search window. Check 'root
bodies only', and then do an empty search. Press the 'select all found'
button to select them all.
