FM8 will run if you copy the /nbos directory to an external hard drive or
thumbdrive. All its program files are contained under that
directory. BUT, FM8 does use your system's application data area for
temporary files, and stores its settings in the registry. So if you move
it to another machine, any settings you might have made in FM8 will be
reset back to their defaults.

Also, if you switch it to another machine, FM wont be able to find FWE
unless you run FWE first so that its location can be registered in the
registry.
