I agree about FM8 but the questions I raised in my last e-mail would
still apply.

Cheers,

Wow, that would be cool for AS, but it would be so much cooler for
Fractal Mapper!

Virtual game table that can be viewed by many!

And, if it works like that, then people could be remote (ie, not close
by) and still 'share' in the virtual game table seen through augmented
reality.

Sorry, now my gears are really turning...

Hi all,

I'm a long-time lurker on this list. However this thread makes me want
to reply. I make iOS and Android apps for a living, and I specialize in
Augmented Reality apps. Mostly cute commercial stuff, but I've long
wished for something I can use to help me with my SF games.
I'm a big AS fan, though I've not used it in a couple of years.
But I'd like to open the floor to suggestions as to what people would
like to see in an AS helper app. I'm not suggesting I would make it as
such. I certainly don't want to interfere with nbos in any way. If they
have something in the pipe, fantastic. However I would be honored to
help crowd-design or at least make up a wish-list.

For starters, let me throw out that I'd like the mobile app to be able
to be a remote control for the AS application running on the PC or
mobile. This would allow for easy control of data flow to other players,
and if we all had our phones or tablets at a game... then we all just
log onto a server or service and we're all seeing the data the GM wants
us to see.

Plus... if there was an AR function in there... it would allow the game
table to be treated as a kind of fake holographic projector. I do work
like this all the time. It's not hard. The point here is that all the
players would be able to see the star systems hovering over the playing
surface.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes
here.

Hello,

Does anyone besides me want a way to view the systems and sectors
created in AS on the web and/or an iOS device?

I saw this app and thought of how cool it would be to just pass around
my iPad to my players and let them take a look at the system or sector.
