I would really like to see a way to do more customization of lines. <SNIP>

Railroad Tracks. <SNIP>

One-panel fill patterns. <SNIP>

It would be very nice to know how to create custom line styles.

I don't think FM8 has a means for creating custom line styles, but perhaps
Ed Diana will correct me if I'm wrong.

However, I have some doubt that the addition of custom line styles would
lead to your goal. If I recall correctly, you are mapping on a raster
level. Lines (and therefore line styles) are vector objects in FM8.

A good e-Friend (is that a new expression?) Mark Oliva, who runs the Vintyri
Project and Dungeons Daring, responded to my request for exactly the same
thing. He provided me with a file download containing dozens of bitmap
(mostly .png) files of railway lines and the like. I suggest you contact him
and ask if he is willing for you to access the same file.

The material I pointed Mike to consists of raster symbols, not line styles.
If you need these railroad tracks, etc., please contact me privately by
E-Mail and I'll give you the same information.
