Re: [nbos] [FM8] Maps as Web Pages, Was A raster map of a hemisphere"Mark Oliva" Sat Mar 27th, 2010

Several times on the wish lists people have asked fora way to save maps,
from universes to doghouses, so that people who did not have NBOS products
could "use" the maps, but the readers could not alter the maps. In short:
I as an Author can write my novel, and put my maps on a disk, and let the
reader see the maps, but that's it: just see them, not edit them.
Obviously, I'm missing some point. It seems to me that we've been able to
do that all along. Isn't that what the File/Export options do?
Maybe this idea could be incorporated into saving maps as web pages.
I suppose that Ed could write a routine that makes an internal conversion to
a JPG and then outputs on the export option to a HTM file. But it's just
about as easy to take a JPG export from FM8 and put it on a HTM page
In fact, it's so easy that that's why I feel certain that I'm missing your
point. Could you clear that up?
