Hi Ed:

There seems to be something wrong with my NBOS e-mail. I gather my
messages are reaching the list and I'm having responses posted, but none
of the responses are being delivered to me. I suspect something has
happened with Yahoo that needs dealing with - I'll check from my end and
see if there's anything I need to do.

Meanwhile, thanks for your response to the question below, which I found
when I visited the list - I tried your suggestion and all now seems to
be well.

Subject: [nbos] [AS] Background Map

I've just started producing a map for a military history which requires
me to trace over a scanned Ordnance Survey map and then delete the
scanned map. I've gone abut this by producing a .bmp of the scanned map,
placing a copy as a background image in FM8 on a layer I have named
"Bitmap", then commencing the tracing of contours on the "Geographic"

I would like to hide the Bitmap, so I can see how my traced elements
look on their own. I've tried hiding the "Bitmap" layer but the bitmap
remains in place and visible. I guess I must have done something wrong
either by making the bitmap a background or in the way I have used the
layers. Can anyone advise me on this, please?
