1) Find a LUG *Linux User Group* somewhere in your area. They are the best source of Linux info. LUG's are great souce of info, but be ready for some serious geekage. <grin> Google will help you find on in your area.

2) You'll need an emulator. WINE is the best. That will allow you to run *most* Windblows apps.

Welcome to the other side!!! For more general info about Linux, start here: and

Hope this helps for a start...

Subject: [nbos] [FM8 & AS] Linux compatibility

I am sure this must have been asked before but, having recently obtained a Toshiba NB 100 notebook that is running Obuntu Linux (V 8.04); I would like to run the NBOS software from my Notebook and wonder whether that is feasible and, if so, what I need to do to get things up and running. Please note, I am not a tecchie, so plain English step-by-step instructions would be appreciated :-).

I'm very happy with the hardware and OS, so I don't want to switch to Windows OS.
