My proposal for uninstalling and then re-installing was to provide a
quicker and less boring method of getting the CC3 symbols usable by FM8.
That is all. That process makes this automatic rather than requiring you
to manually copy each symbol.

Yes, the PNG symbols. I was referring to the vector symbols.

What are you trying to do by uninstalling and reinstalling CC3? I don't
need to worry about the symbol files going away (make a copy and work
with the copy, not the originals).
