You have my heart-felt sympathy! I played A D & D (2nd Ed) when I was
younger but, as soon as Traveller appeared, I was hooked and fantasy
disappeared into the middle distance. I can't say I've never looked back
but I'm a die-hard SciFi-er. Live long & prosper.

Oh, that's the setup video. That one was actually a bit of over-the-top
self-parody. A lot of inside jokes that you'd have to be a D&D-er to
really
appreciate.

Although it isn't my cup of tea, I've played a lot of D&D over the
years,
going all the way back to the original 'white box' set in the mid-70s
when
there were no other RPGs. I had to watch that video twice, because the
first
time through I was laughing so hard that I missed half the dialogue.

I havent seen the videos, but if it was a French accent it may have been

the guy who's in charge of the electronic initiative. I talked to him
very
briefly up at gencon.
