[nbos] [AS] Suggestions for AS 2.1

Don't get me wrong, I like this program. I *really* like this program. But I find one thing in it that I consider a fairly large flaw, so I thought I should point it out for future reference. That is, lack of user defined default settings.

I can pull up sector properties and change how the grid displays itself, etc. I feel that in addition, I should be able to mass edit every object in the sector there, for example to change label displays from red when unselected and yellow when selected to dark gray/white. I feel that there should be an option to have all stars in the sector display according to spectral class, or in the case of multiples, by the spectral class of the primary star.

The other place badly in need of user defined default settings is the system generator. If you are placing a new object, it gives you the choice of whether to randomly generate a name and whether to randomly generate system contents and space stations. If you are generating system contents for an already existing system, it may or may not rename it, and so far as I can tell there's no way to turn that off. Nor is there a way to keep it from generating system contents when adding a child body.

There is another discrepancy I'm seeing, but it is a more subtle one and may have to wait. That is, in a multiple system I can't see that it allows for the orbital properties of the primary children around the system barycenter. In a practical sense, the system display CANNOT be even vaguely useful in a system like Xi Ursae Majoris with its at least 3, possibly 5 or more stars, as the display doesn't seem to take into account the idea of the system barycenter NOT having a star centered in it.

Sorry guys, you hooked an astronomy nut.

Sam
