AstroSynthesis Data & Downloads

Save these files into the Plugins directory under the directory where AstroSynthesis is installed (typically 'c:\program files\nbos\AstroSynthesis2') and then re-start Astro. The plug-ins will then be available via the Plugins menu.


• XML Import plug-in
  This imports XML files created by the XML Export plug-in which ships with Astro2.
• Quick Generate
  This is a simple plug-in that generates random systems until the Esc key is pressed.
• Surface Map & Blazon generator
  This cool little plug-in searches each system for its most populated planet, generates a surface map for the planet, and then applies that surface map as the main star's blazon image in the 3D star map. The end effect looks like this screenshot. This does take some time to run, but the results are well worth it! Try this first with a small 10x10x10 sector to get a feel for how long it will take to run against larger sectors.

  Three data files of real universe star positions in .csv format that can be imported into AstroSynthesis. Files included are:
  
  
  • All stars within 50ly of Sol
  • All stars within 100ly of Sol
  • All stars within 1000ly of Sol
  • A text file describing the source for the data and methologies used.
  
  To import these datafiles, select File - Import Data from AstroSynthesis's main menu.
